Responding to the announcement of the UK General Election taking place on the 4 July 2024, Dr Rhidian Hughes, Chief Executive of the Voluntary Organisations Disability Group (VODG) says:

‘It is essential that whoever forms the next government, ensures disabled people are at the heart of decision making.

'This means fully funding the support disabled people and their families rely on, properly valuing the social care workforce and supporting a thriving third sector.

'Only by reframing the provision of support for disabled people of all ages, will we have a fairer society where people are able to live the lives they choose.’
