It’s Time For the Government to #CommitToCare

More than thirty leading charities urge the Chancellor to use the Spring Budget to commit to children in care and care leavers.

VODG has joined over thirty other organisations in signing an open letter addressed to the Chancellor of the Exchequer. The letter calls on the Chancellor to commit to two simple asks:

a) don’t make low-income parents and families worse off.

b) make a commitment to sustainable, long-term investment in the children’s social care system.

If the government doesn't act now, poverty will push an estimated 2000 children into care by the next Budget.

It’s time for the government to #CommitToCare.
