Bromley Mencap
Bromley Mencap is an award-winning, independent, self-funded charity working with disabled people, families and carers. We’re based in the London Borough of Bromley (hence the name), and we’ve been around since 1951. You can read more about the history of Bromley Mencap.
Although the London Borough of Bromley (population approximately 300,000) is typical of many outer Boroughs of big cities that are stereotyped as ‘prosperous’, there are still areas of real and serious need. In the case of many individuals, this need is heightened by the gap in opportunities and lifestyle between them and other local inhabitants.
Rights for disabled people
Bromley Mencap’s continuous action on behalf of disabled people, their parents and carers, is based on the principle that disabled people have a right to live like others in the community and to have a reasonable quality of life.
We provide a range of services and activities for disabled people, and their parents and carers. We also campaign on issues of interest which impact the lives of disabled people.

Bromley Mencap is affiliated with the Royal Mencap Society.
