During this workshop, we will provide a detailed demonstration of the most effective methods for initiating discussions with suppliers about the ESG agenda. Additionally, we will outline strategies for aligning supplier practices with your organisation's specific ESG goals.
In today's interconnected world, ESG goals are crucial for long-term success. ESG practices foster innovation, operational efficiency, and cost savings. They contribute to a more sustainable future and build trust and loyalty among stakeholders. Organisations that ignore ESG factors risk falling behind competitors, facing regulatory challenges, and damaging their brand. It's crucial to be aware of these risks and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
Collaborating closely with suppliers is essential for organisations seeking to drive positive change and contribute to a more sustainable future. By fostering strong partnerships with suppliers, organisations can better align with their ESG objectives. Supply chains play a pivotal role in an organisation's ESG strategy, serving as a conduit through which environmental and social impacts can be managed and improved. This collaboration helps organisations not only achieve their sustainability goals but also strengthen their overall ESG performance.

Principal Consultant, Marr Procurement
Jonathan’s procurement journey began outside of the field, as an IT Project Manager, where he worked closely with prominent IT hardware providers, sparking his interest in negotiation and supply chain management. It wasn’t until he joined LV= in Bournemouth, however, that Jonathan gained experience negotiating with heavyweight consultancies, the “Big 4,” and the importance of driving specificity and contract management during times of significant change.
Jonathan then took a turn into the Defence sector, managing Professional Services, HR, Fleet, and other areas before returning to Financial Services. In this capacity, he simplified recruitment spend, delivered savings across the HR and Finance departments, and led the adoption of Procurement Practices.
Jonathan has a BA in Business Studies with Economics and Enterprise, along with CIPS and Project Management qualifications. He thrives on collaborating with stakeholders to deliver tangible value.
Outside of work, Jonathan volunteers at a local Cub Pack and serves as a Finance and Planning Governor at his son’s school. He is passionate about outdoor adventurous activities and lends his time at the school’s Forest School program.
