We are delighted to invite members of the Operations Directors' and Quality and Safeguarding networks to the Trowers & Hamlins offices in London on Tuesday 10 September 2024, 10.00 - 15.00, to take part in the Joint VODG Operations Directors’ and Quality and Safeguarding event.
We have a packed agenda and an exciting line-up of speakers, offering attendees the opportunity to participate in a series of thought-provoking and stimulating workshops and talks.
To start the day, Sarah Woodhouse, Head of Policy and Influencing at VODG will give a short policy update, after which we will hear from FitzRoy's Love4Life Team, who will be speaking about their lived experience of learning disability and autism.
Steffen Wulff Petersen of Sona will be speaking on a topic that is generating a lot of interest just now, AI for social care. Steffen will give an overview of the types of AI products available that are relevant to social care, how they can be used and what to consider when writing an AI policy for your organisation.
Maria Dunn of Trowers & Hamlins will be considering the recent rise in the number of prosecutions brought by CQC: why has there been this increase, how can providers avoid prosecution, and what should you do if you are notified of a prosecution?
After a networking lunch, we will be joined by Eleanor Haworth of Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) who will speak about local authority safeguarding approaches, Sarah McCormack of Delphi Care, who will discuss CQC inspections under the new framework, and the Department for Work and Pensions who will be providing guidance on how to ensure that the people you support are in receipt of the right benefits.
There will also be ample opportunity to connect with peers, including a complimentary lunch and refreshments.
Please note that spaces at this event are limited to one per member organisation.
